January 20, 2010 - 08:59 PM Cosmo Carello - info@brognaturoonline.com On January 17, 2010 for the first time in the history of the Brognaturesi immigrants of Thunder Bay, we, the founding members of the Brognaturo Club of Thunder Bay, have organized an information meeting. The atmosphere was very positive, although we did not have the numbers we were hoping for. In fact there were twenty of us in attendance, but we consider this already an enormous step forward. For the first time we are trying to form an organization for a segment of population that, a part the relationships of friendship between Brognaturesi emigrants of first generation coming from our village, they have always been left to do things on their own. There were three topic of discussion: 1) The expansion of the Brognaturo Club of Thunder Bay 2) The Big Reunion of 2010 3) The construction of a Monument to the Emigrants of Brognaturo On all three topics the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. All of the attendees, to my pleasant surprise, expressed their ideas in a calm and orderly manner even though at times two or more people expressed their ideas at the same time. This is also part of our Brognaturese culture that we cannot and we must not change. The meeting was adjourned with the promise to have another one in two months time and to use different methods to notify the people so that they are aware of what we are trying to accomplish and to create that positive atmosphere to make them come out and join us.
