Dal mio lato personale posso dire che ho gia` fatto le prenotazioni necessarie affinche` mi possa godere questo storico evento a Brognaturo e voglio sperare che tantissimi di voi facciano lo stesso in modo da rendere questo evento memorabile. See you all in Brognaturo. . 15 January 20, 2010 - 08:59 PM Cosmo Carello scrive/writes:   On January 17, 2010 for the first time in the history of the Brognaturesi immigrants of Thunder Bay, we, the founding members of the Brognaturo Club of Thunder Bay, have organized an information meeting. The atmosphere was very positive, although we did not have the numbers we were hoping for. In fact there were twenty of us in attendance, but we consider this already an enormous step forward. For the first time we are trying to form an organization for a segment of population that, a part the relationships of friendship between Brognaturesi emigrants of first generation coming from our village, they have always been left to do things on their own. There were three topic of discussion: 1) The expansion of the Brognaturo Club of Thunder Bay 2) The Big Reunion of 2010 3) The construction of a Monument to the Emigrants of Brognaturo On all three topics the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. All of the attendees, to my pleasant surprise, expressed their ideas in a calm and orderly manner even though at times two or more people expressed their ideas at the same time. This is also part of our Brognaturese culture that we cannot and we must not change. The meeting was adjourned with the promise to have another one in two months time and to use different methods to notify the people so that they are aware of what we are trying to accomplish and to create that positive atmosphere to make them come out and join us. . 16 January 20, 2010 - 08:55 PM Cosmo Carello scrive/writes:   IL 17 Gennaio 2010 per la prima volta nella storia degli emigrati Brognaturesi di Thuner Bay, noi soci fondatori abbiamo organizzato una riunione generale a titolo informativo. L’atmosfera era piena di una carica positiva nonostante non c'erano i numeri che ci aspettavamo. In fatti eravamo in venti ma consideriamo questo gia' un passo enorme se si considera che stiamo cercando di mettere su un’organizzazione per un segmento di popolazione che in una citta’ come questa, a parte i rapporti di amicizia tra Brognaturesi emigrati di prima generazione provenienti dalla nostra terra, e’ sempre stata costretta a fare tutto da se. I temi in discussione sono stati tre: 1) L’espansione del club Brognaturo di Thunder Bay 2) Il Grande Raduno del 2010 3) La costruzione del Monumento agli Emigrati di Brognaturo Su tutti e tre argomenti la reazione e’ stata positiva e rincuorante. I presenti, con mia grande sorpresa hanno espresso le loro idee in modo pacato ed ordinato e poi, che cosa c’e’ di piu’ bello se non si discute tutti assieme di tanto in tanto alla maniera Brognaturese? Anche questo fa’ parte di un nostro modo di fare che non possiamo e non dobbiamo cancellare. Alla fine la riunione e’ stata aggiornata con la promessa di tutti i presenti di rifarla fra due mesi e di usare dei metodi diversi per far in modo che ci sia una piu’ ampia partecipazione che speriamo man mano che si va avanti arrivi al 100%. . 17 January 13, 2010 - 03:43 PM Checco scrive/writes:   Mi pare che adesso la discussione abbia peso la piega giusta. Purtroppo i miei impegni di lavoro mi impediscono di partecipare con continuità al grande lavoro svolto dell'Associazione per la preparazione delle diverse iniziative e soprattutto del grande raduno. Credo, però, dopo aver visto "tutto" il paese unito in occasione della tombolata del 6 gennaio, tenuta presso il Convento, che se manteniamo questo spirito il grande raduno del 2010 sarà sicuramente un successo e sarà ricordato per sempre nella storia di Brognaturo. Riguardo ai 'Focari': quest`anno essendo un avvenimento speciale sarebbe bello se ce ne fosse uno grande come ai vecchi tempi e che molti degli emigrati sicuramente ricordano. Certamente ci sara` anche chi avra` il proprio 'focaru' davanti alla propria casa e sicuramente non gli si dovra` dare una colpa anche perche` tutti abbiamo il diritto di festeggiare come meglio crediamo.
