The people of Brognaturo are very devoted to the Saints of Riace:
Cosma & Damiano. Every year some of the villagers walk from Brognaturo to Riace, the hometown of the Saints. They leave on the morning of September 24 and they walk all day. At night they stop at the Monte Stella
Sanctuary (in the grotto) where they eat their supper, sing, play music and also pray. They leave again early in the morning to arrive just in time to participate to the celebration of the Mass. After the mass, the villagers return home but not as a group any longer..
 In this photo we see the Zangari brothers: Cosmo, Domenic (with their guitars) and Stefano. Also, Toto` Miletta, Antonio Pelaggi (the captain), etc.... They all wear a red foulard on their neck with the name of Brognaturo printed on it to distinguish them from other groups.
