Thunder Bay-Ontario-Canada
La citta` di Thunder Bay e`
situata strategicamente nel centro del Canada sulle rive del lago
Superiore, il piu grande lago del mondo, e alla fine del sistema dei
canali di San Lorenzo.
Thunder Bay e` il centro regionale del Nord Ovest dell`Ontario, che ha
una estensione ben paragonabile all`Europa .La citta` ha una
popolazione di 120mila abitanti composta da diverse
nazionalita` e culture con gli Italiani al secondo posto come
percentuale (15%)solo dopo i Finlandesi (20%). La citta` e` un punto di
riferimento obbligatorio per il traffico stradale canadese che va da
Est a Ovest, e anche per il traffico del Centro Nord Statunitense
considerando che si trova a soli quarantacinque minuti dal confine.
Thunder Bay e` al decimo posto per la sua grandezza in Canada e al primo
posto nel Nord Ovest dell`Ontario. |
The City of Thunder Bay is strategically
located near the geographical centre of Canada, on the shore of
Lake Superior - the western terminus of the St. Lawrence Seaway
System.
Thunder Bay is a regional centre and the "Centre of the Great
Northwest", a physical area nearly the size of Europe. The City
is also the access point to and from the American Mid-West by
way of the Pigeon River border crossing, 45 minutes away by
road.
Thunder Bay is the 10th largest city in Ontario and the largest
metropolitan centre in Northwestern Ontario. The population of
Metro Thunder Bay is approximately 120,000 and is made up of a
diverse multi-cultural base with the Finnish at 20%
followed by the Italians at 15%.
